Healthy Mural Transforms Eastside Market Exterior

La Tapatia market in Eastside received a healthy mural transformation on the weekend of August 15th. The beautification projects now provides promotion and visibility of the fresh fruits and vegetables sold in the store. The City Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services engaged middle and high school youth in the HEAL Zone Youth Council to help design the mural. They met every two weeks at the Cesar Chavez Community Center across the street from the market during the planning process. Artist Ronald Del Cid managed the mural project and helped transform the Youth Council sketches to the final artwork. The youth, residents, and students from the University of California Riverside volunteered over the weekend to complete the mural.
