Analaura Amezquita Recognized for Her Work in Whittier

Ms. Amezquita has participated in Activate Whittier’s “Change Starts with Me” training and served as a dedicated volunteer with Activate Whittier as a “Residents in Action” member, spearheading health and wellness advocacy projects. She was just 13 years old when she became an advocate for the Southern California Kaiser Permanente Healthy Eating and Active Living Initiatives in Whittier.

Ms. Amezquita is an integral part of the Healthy Picks Corner Conversion Program in Whittier, and founded Project W at Whittier High School, a student run club whose mission is to engage their school community in pursuing a healthier environment for youth. She has received many recognitions for her achievements, including being named Kaiser Permanente’s Youth Leader of the Year and chosen by ABC 7’s Eyewitness News as a Cool Kid. Ms. Amezquita serves as the General Coordinator, Facilitator, and member of Families of Whittier Seeking Success and volunteers at the Whittier Public Library’s “Summer Reading Program.”
